Synopsis
Can one person change the world? When a near bankrupt drop-in shelter is on the verge of closing its doors for good over Christmas, the homeless residents and those who run the shelter, question what the future holds. What does it mean to believe when life turns out not how you expected it? With symbolic references to the true meaning behind the Christmas season, Born For This is a multi-character drama exploring why we are here and the possibility of miracles in an environment where there isn’t much “joy to the world”.

Get Born – After months of work on developing a script, auditioning actors, countless hours of rehearsals and working out every aspect of tech (lights, sound, sets) it has now come down to the dress rehearsal.
Art - I was at rehearsal yesterday and the creative energies were flowing in many directions. Art was happening on different levels.
A Walk in the Park – Rehearsals for Born For This are in full swing. The play is completely blocked and I am now working on the acting. The next couple of weeks are critical in molding the direction of the play and getting the best out of my performers.
Born For This – I don’t normally get writer’s block, but when re-writing Born For This, I found myself fighting the page. It’s the worst feeling for a writer when the words aren’t flowing and every idea seems to die a slow death.
Re-Write Mode – These last two days I have stepped back from a script I just completed to get some perspective. I’ll be directing this play come the fall and it involves a cast of 10 actors. It is a play centered on the Christmas season and will be performed on Dec 11 and 12 at the Stone Church in Toronto.
